What is Foster Care?

The majority of us are lucky enough to have had a relatively stable childhood with loving parents who met our basic needs; security, warmth, nourishment and care. There are, however, many children who do not receive these basic needs from their birth parents for a variety of reasons. These children need Foster Carers.

Being a Foster Carer you will care for children of all ages, they could be in your Foster Care from a few weeks to several years.

Foster Care can be challenging but brings you great rewards when you know that your efforts have improved a child’s experience of life.

We especially need Foster Carers with the skills and commitment to welcome teens, siblings or more challenging children into their homes. Higher Fostering Allowances are paid in these cases in recognition of the dedication required.
